Public Webinar: In a first of its kind presentation, concerned citizens and nuclear experts, and public advocates will explore and expose current safety risks at the failed San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). Visit the new Web site here.

A panel of community leaders, Fukushima evacuees and nuclear experts is calling on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to update and revise its emergency plans for the shuttered nuclear facility at San Onofre based on rapidly changing climate conditions and a pattern of secrecy and cost-saving shortcuts taken by the company decommissioning the facility. Together, the experts warn, these factors put millions of Southern California citizens at unnecessary risk of potentially catastrophic impacts.

Who:

  • Paul Blanch, Nuclear Engineer and Safety Expert
  • Cathy Iwane, Community Leader and Fukushima evacuee
