Roles: |
- Internal and external coordination
- Facilitating meetings, and organizing the facilitation of meetings
- This includes setting the agendas, managing the list serve, and facilitating communication among NRWC committees and other NRWC working groups. Managing Google Drive.
- Outreach
- Expand the Coalition through outreach and targeted recruitment of new member organizations; build solidarity networks with groups including but not limited to Indigenous groups and tribes, communities and groups located near decommissioning sites, anti-nuclear groups and the broader environmental movement related to (but not limited to) energy development, wildlife, and agriculture.
- Policy research and advocacy
- Work with the coalition to update strategy plans and work with members to identify new methods for grassroots activism and policy.
- Travel to relevant events and conferences and represent the coalition. Lobby coalition goals and principles to decision makers.
- Work with the Media coordinator to manage new member applications.

Structure: |
- The Coalition Coordinator will report directly to the NCC. The NCC will choose a Liaison to provide direction and communication to the coordinator.
- Write concise regular reports with updates to NRWC members on work completed, on the NRWC Plan and possible recommended actions, and conduct needed research/assessments as assigned.
- NCC will develop timelines and deadlines with coordinator for task management.
- 12 month contract
- $25/hour 16-24 hours per week (flexible)

Candidate Qualifications: |
- Educational Requirements
- Flexible. Educational background in relevant topics or equivalent experience in community engagement and grassroots organizing.
- Knowledge/Training
- Familiarity with nuclear waste policy, or ability to independently learn.
Knowledge of and demonstrated operational ability to use online platforms including: Google Drive and Zoom.
- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. policy, environmental justice, and/or nuclear issues.
- Ability to travel (financed by coalition).
- Demonstrated experience in grassroots organizing, community engagement, and campaign management.
- Strong speaking and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity for flexibility, working independently and adapting to unforeseen circumstances.
- Comfortable reaching out to new people, who may not share the same social, cultural, language, gender identity, economic status, or regional identity.
